FAQ
1. Do you have a minimum booking requirement? Yes — I require a 3-hour minimum for all live event bookings.
2. How many guests can you sketch per hour? On average, I can sketch 5–8 guests per hour, depending on the style and level of detail.
3. What if I want all of my guests illustrated? If you’d like everyone sketched, we can plan based on your guest count—this might include extending hours or offering post-event sketches for anyone I don’t get to live.
4. What do guests receive from the live sketching? Each guest receives a one-of-a-kind portrait to take home—either hand-drawn on paper or printed/delivered digitally, depending on your selected format. My hand-drawn portraits are usually done on thick 5 x 7" paper inserted in a clear plastic sleeve for protection, but custom sizes are available! We can discuss what might be best for your event.
5. What happens if not all guests are sketched during the event? I always aim to sketch as many guests as possible during the booked time. If needed, post-event sketches can be arranged for an additional fee.
6. Can I customize the illustration paper with my logo or design? Yes! I offer custom branded paper with your logo, monogram, or event artwork—perfect for weddings, brand activations, or corporate events. This service is available for an additional fee, and I require at least 2 weeks’ notice before the event to prepare your custom materials.
7. What’s the difference between digital and traditional sketching? Traditional: Hand-drawn on 5"x7" cardstock or Bristol paper using pen, markers, colored pencils, and optional color washes—guests take home a physical keepsake. Digital: Sketched on iPad, with the option for on-site printing or digital delivery via QR code or email.
8. Do guests have to sit still for a long time? Not at all! I take a quick reference photo of each guest so they don’t need to sit and pose. Sketches are fun and relaxed—guests are free to enjoy the event while I draw.
9. What are your setup needs? I’ll need a table at least 3' x 3', a chair, and access to an outlet if digital sketching is included. I bring all my own materials and signage.
10. Can you do illustrations before or after an event? Yes! You can send me photos of guests to complete as thank you cards or post-event keepsakes. I’m happy to provide additional illustrations after the event!
11. What if I'm looking for something different or have a unique budget? I’m happy to work with you to create a custom order or find creative ways to make your event special! Let’s talk about your vision, and I’ll tailor my services to fit your needs.
12. What’s your cancellation policy? A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. If your event needs to be postponed, I’ll do my best to reschedule if the new date is available. Cancellations must be made at least 60 days before the event date—otherwise, the full balance may still be owed depending on the timing and circumstances.
